Day 1 - Land's End to Tintagel

The day started with our first full English breakfast of the journey. This put us in good stead for the journey ahead. We made the short four mile cycle from Crows An Wra to Lands End where we discovered that the sign post had not yet been set up. After meeting two other groups embarking on the same journey as us (it’s good to know we’re not the only insane ones!) we got our photos taken where the signpost should be and headed off on the first leg of our cycle.

We headed out on the A30 before heading through Camborne on the A... We then headed up towards Newquay before turning off for Quintrell Downs. After a short ride up the A39 we turned off the main roads and headed for Tintagel on some minor roads. This is when the heavens opened and spoilt the perfect cycling conditions we experienced for most of the day.

Near the end of the first day we headed down a 20% hill, the slippery surface and sudden end of the road resulted in us skidding in to the road ahead. The car in front of us also looked like it had suffered the same fate and after this close call we headed to Tintagel just in time to see majority of the Wimbledon final.

Tomorrow we head in to Devon and are hoping for some weather similar to this morning. So far so good.
